They are designed for the hot forming of rotational and irregular shape of steel and non ferrous metals in several progressive vertically arranged dies. The machine can be operated by Upsetting, Drawing out, Shouldering, Piercing, and Trimming also cutting off the forging from the bar. They are used especially in series and mass production of forged parts for Automobiles, Agricultural machinery and manufacture of Roller bearing races.
The frame is of reinforced steel casting. The slide is of steel casting. The gripping mechanism ensures perfect grip of the forged block between the stationary portion of the die mounted in the frame and the movable portion in the gripping slide.
Drive of the press: by electric motor and Vee belts to the flywheel with built in pneumatic friction clutch. The intermediate shaft transmits the torque to the crank mechanism. The connecting rod for the upsetting ram motion is in two pieces. The gripping mechanism is operated by a double cam. Lubrication is by grease mainly centralized and automatic from a pressure lubricator with self contained electric motor.
These presses bring to the user varied technological applications, high productivity of work, optimum utilization of material and dimensional and geometrical accuracy of the forgings.
